EL PASO MOUNTAINS - April 1 2, 2006
This is not an April Fools Joke!
A few of us area heading up to the EL Paso Mountains for April Fools Day to
explore the area, camp and have fun. Wed like to invite you to come along!
This area is just a couple of hours north of Los Angeles (off CA-14) and
offers some fun wheeling, great desert landscapes and interesting history.
Well be in and around Red Rock Canyon State Park and on BLM land.
The plan is to meet at Jawbone Station on Saturday morning and then head out
from there for a day of exploring. Well camp Saturday night at a location
to be determined by where we are as evening approaches! Sunday we can
explore more and head home.
Please arrive at Jawbone Station with a full tank of gas and ready to go!
The runs in the area appear to be more or less medium with some options
for harder stuff in places. A lot of it will not be hard (or even medium) at
all but scenic and fun. If we are lucky some of the desert bloom should be
getting underway in places.
This is not an official run. Weve not pre-run the place though some folks
who go with us will likely have been there before and offer to help
(volunteers please speak up). It is an exploratory visit to a popular area
to which you are invited to participate so as to make a fun event for all
who come.
There is a lot to see and were going to go find it!
People whod like to head up on Friday, March 31, there are hotels in Mojave
and places to camp nearby. Details are on the web page for this event. As
always weve complete details with directions, meeting times, maps and more
(way, way more) on a web page for you:

Keep check that page for updates and any changes between now and April
Fools!
If youve any questions, please ask!!!
We hope to see you there!
